Why Bali eSIM

Built for surf weeks and slow months

Holidays, retreats and remote-work stays — one plan, bought before you leave.

  • Delivered inside the app

The eSIM appears in the app seconds after you buy it. Nothing ships, nothing to collect, nothing to return.

  • Your number stays your number

Your home line stays active for calls, SMS and the one-time codes your bank sends. The eSIM carries data only.

  • No counter in arrivals

Nothing to queue for after a red-eye, no passport registration form, and nothing to hand back before departure.

  • Live the moment you land

Install it before you fly and the phone finds an Indonesian network by itself — at the airport, in Canggu or up in Ubud.

  • One price, paid before you go

You choose the data and see the total before you pay. The amount cannot grow while you sleep.

  • Support in your language

In-app support answers in the language you write in, which helps when your flight lands at two in the morning.

Three steps, all of them before you pack

Buy at home, install over Wi-Fi, land connected.

    Download the app

The Bali eSIM app is free on the App Store and Google Play.

  2. 02

Match the plan to the trip

Fixed bundles for a holiday of a week or two, unlimited plans in lengths from a long weekend to a full month.

  3. 03

    Scan once

A single QR scan installs the eSIM. It sits next to your usual SIM and waits until you land.

Coverage

All of Indonesia, not only Bali

This is an Indonesia plan on a major local network, and that is worth saying plainly: it covers the whole country, not just one island. 4G/LTE runs through the places you are likely to be — Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Ubud, Sanur — and the same plan keeps working in Jakarta, on Lombok and the Gili Islands, and on a Nusa Penida day trip, with 5G where the network offers it.

Be honest about the limits too: signal is strong across the busy south and thinner on remote coasts and mid-strait on a boat, exactly as it is for a local SIM — no eSIM changes where the towers are. What you can change before you fly is what the data costs: roaming is billed by your home carrier on its own terms; this plan is paid once, before departure.

Hopping to Lombok or the Gilis?

Fast-boat itineraries are the normal Bali trip now: a Nusa Penida day, a few nights on Gili Trawangan, a surf week on Lombok. Because the plan covers all of Indonesia, the same eSIM rides along — no new SIM at each harbour. Expect the signal to drop mid-crossing and come back as you near the pier, which is true of every network here.

The whole trip on one screen

Buy a plan, install it, watch what is left, top up the same eSIM — and no website account to create first.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers, before you fly.

What is an eSIM?

A digital SIM built into the phone. Instead of putting a plastic chip in a tray, you install the plan by scanning a QR code, and your usual SIM can stay exactly where it is.

Does my phone support eSIM?

Most phones sold since 2018 do: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and many other recent Android models. The phone also has to be carrier-unlocked. Our setup guides show where to check in a few taps.

When should I install it?

Over Wi-Fi at home, a day or two before you fly. Nothing starts counting at that point: the plan begins when the eSIM first connects to a network in Indonesia, so an early install costs you nothing and saves you doing it on airport Wi-Fi.

Will I keep my own number?

Yes. The eSIM carries data only, so your home line stays active for your number, your SMS codes and your messaging accounts. Set mobile data to the eSIM and leave the rest as it is.

How fast is it?

It runs on a major Indonesian network: 4G/LTE where you are likely to be, and 5G where the network offers it. Enough for maps, video calls, uploading the drone footage, and working from a laptop over the hotspot when the café Wi-Fi gives up.

Do I have to remove my physical SIM?

No. The two run side by side. The only setting that matters is which line mobile data uses — point it at the eSIM so your home SIM never roams.
